Nine Ladies Dancing: Cora Dance Studio
There are only a few days left until Christmas, have you bought all of your gifts yet?
We were stumped as to what local gift would best represent "Nine Ladies Dancing" until the answer was revealed to us by way of a little girl from Red Hook spinning in a ballet leotard.
The Cora Studio is a tiny non-profit dance school on Richards Street, offering pay-what-you-can classes to young girls, studio space to dance troupes and education to nearby institutions.
The school celebrated the opening of its studio-theater on September 22. But one month later, Sandy had ravaged its electrical system and deterred much of their space rentals.
