Roulette Presents I.R.I.S Feat: Andrea Parkins, Hans Tammen, Didier Petit, Edward Perraud

Brooklyn, NY: Roulette presents I.R.I.S, Monday, February 13, 8:30pm. IRIS, featuring Andrea Parkins (accordian, electronics, amplified objects), Hans Tammen (guitar & analog modular synth), Didier Petit (cello, voice ), Edward Perraud (drums, electronics), is a French-US collaborative quartet and a new ensemble exploring a broad diversity of approaches to improvisation and composition in contexts ranging from avant-jazz to chamber music to improvised electro-acoustics. As a group I.R.I.S utilizes a rich field of instrumentation: including percussion, voice, electronically-processed accordion, laptop electronics, cello, analog plus a hybrid guitar/software instrument. I.R.I.S incorporates the group's unusual timberal possibilities and implementing the unique and challenging improvisational strategies that each of these musicians has developed during their respective careers.
