Paper Engineering

NYC Resistor member Shelby Arnold, a professional paper engineer, will lead a class on making your own pop-up creations.  You'll learn a number of paper-engineering mechanisms and how to use them to design your own pop-ups and decorations. This class goes beyond the usual box layers and v-folds and gets into some of the more advanced pop-up mechanisms, such as rotators and rising platforms.

Shelby Arnold works in Robert Sabuda's paper engineering studio, where she designs pop-up books and a line of pop-up cards for the MoMA.
