Panel: Activism and Entertainment with 2012 Presidential Candidate Vermin Supreme

Satirical-activist Vermin Supreme will headline a discussion about “actitainment,” a political movement combining activism and entertainment which has gained momentum in the last ten years. Is actitainment an effective tool to bring about political change, or at least raise awareness of political issues?

The discussion will cover the tactics of AdBusters, The Yes Men, Reverend Billy, Jon Stewart, Vermin Supreme and others. Also on the panel will be film producer John Rubino (“Vodka Rocks!”), and film producer Keil Trosh (“Human Resources”). Questions for the panel can be uploaded to Twitter for consideration by the panel moderator prior to the Q&A (#actitainment, #vodka-rocks).

A screening of the 91-minute activist-entertainment movie “Vodka Rocks!,” (2011)will follow the panel. Keil Trosh’s satirical film short “Human Resources” will also be screened.
