City Stomp LIVE Family Concert

New York Music for New York Families

CITY STOMP LIVE TO PERFORM AT LITTLEFIELD ON JUNE 3

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Take one measure of melodies about familiar city sights.  Add a pinch of rousing punk rock versions of classic children's songs.  Sprinkle with a blend of multi-cultural tunes flavored with a rock sensibility.  Stir well with lots of audience enthusiasm from both children and adults and you'll come up with a City Stomp LIVE concert.

Performing songs about subways, garbage trucks, Coney Island and dinosaurs, City Stomp LIVE takes the stage at Littlefield in Brooklyn's Gowanus area for a family concert on Sunday, June 3 at 3 p.m. (doors open at 2:30).

The Brooklyn-based band, whose last two Littlefield shows sold out in advance, features five veteran musicians, two of whom will be familiar to children who take the City Stomp music classes held in multiple locations around Brooklyn.

"We're looking forward to performing a mix of some fan favorites, along with some new material," notes Kevin MacCallum, founder of City Stomp, a music program for kids growing up in New York City.  Live performances echo the songs sung in class, which are comprised of fun, original songs about New York experiences as well as cultural music -- Latin, Carribean, Irish -- they may hear around the city.  "

"Kids love to sing about things they can relate to," says MacCallum, a native New Yorker.  "So, much of the music expresses what they might experience in their daily urban lifestyle.

"And parents get a kick out of the songs, too," added MacCallum.  "We've had dads admit that they play the CD alone in the car after dropping the kids off, though they'd never acknowledge it publicly!"

Doors and cash bar open at 2:30 p.m.  Also on tap are activities, snacks and giveaways for the kids.  Littlefield is located at 622 Degraw Street, between Third and Fourth Avenues in Brooklyn.

Advance tickets are recommended.  Tickets are $8 for individuals aged 2 and older, or $10 at the door.  Family tickets are $30 for a maximum of two adults and their kids and are sold in advance only.  To order tickets, visit www.littlefieldnyc.com/event/122909.
