"Arthur Phillips has found the perfect vehicle for his cerebral talents: his ingenuity; his bright, elastic prose; and, most notably, his penchant for pastiche — for pouring his copious literary gifts into old vessels and reinventing familiar genres."

In addition to the reading, the indie theater company Guerilla Shakespeare Project will perform scenes from The Tragedy of Arthur, which contains a play-within-a-novel.

“I am so excited that Arthur Philips and Guerilla Shakespeare will be coming to the library for this event,” says president Nina Guralnick.  “Our Friends Group is committed to programming enriching activities for the community. We are thrilled and grateful to be working with such an accomplished and talented author.”

Phillips is more than an author. Before taking up the pen professionally, he was a child actor, a jazz musician and a five-time Jeopardy winner.

Seating is limited and the event is free, but donations are appreciated. Those who wish to attend must register at: http://arthurphillipsatlibrary.eventbrite.com/
