Barbra Streisand May Perform at Barclays Center

The iconic singer is said to be planning an appearance at the new arena in the fall—her first major New York City performance since 2006.

Happy days are here again—at least, if rumors can be believed. Brooklyn’s own funny girl Barbra Streisand may be returning to the borough in October to perform at the Barclays Center, according to a recent report.

Though arena officials have not publicly confirmed the concerts, details were posted on ESPN.com and Simply-Showbiz.com, with hints dropped by "people who need people," such as Borough President Marty Markowitz and Councilmember Letitia James (the latter allegedly mentioning offhand that Streisand “has a couple of days" at the arena, according to Atlantic Yards Report).

Streisand’s last performance in New York City was a special show for fans and VIPs at the intimate jazz club Village Vanguard, back in September 2009. Previously, she performed sold-out concerts at Madison Square Garden in 2006.
