Monday

Show the kids a good time. If you have a little one at loose ends this morning, take them to Prospect Park's long meadow for a  Drop-in Toddler Music Class . This new series will take place all summer. Today's class begins at 11:30 a.m. Make sure to RSVP. Details at the link.

Tuesday

Plus, they promise free refreshments. 449 Myrtle Ave., 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday

Help save the Brooklyn Animal Foster Network at Littlefield tonight at A Rock Out With Osekre. Osekre the Lucky Bastards headlines the event offering up a mix of Afrobeat, indie, punk, ska, and rockabilly. The line-up also includes "some of the top bands in Brooklyn," organizers say, plus comedians, poets and some surprises. $10 donation goes in full to BAFN. Show starts at 7. 622 Degraw St.

Thursday

The Claudia Quintet performs at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, bringing Park Slope its "deft blend of improvised jazz solos, run-on, minimalist figures that gradually shift shape and color, and unusual instrumentation," according to Downbeat. The evening includes a pre-concert discussion with John Hollenbeck at 7 pm led by jazz critic David Adler. 58 7th Avenue. 7 p.m. $25, students and seniors $20, standing $15. Details here

Piper Plays 2013 Festival also begins Thursday night. See below.

Friday

This weekend is the Piper Plays 2013 Festival: Smart Plays for Young Actors. All 10 new one-act plays are performed on June 13, 14 and 15. Organizers describe them as "smart, dynamic quirky, exciting, funny and disturbing ... (offering) portals into the secret world of children, teens, and their parents." Brooklyn Art eXchange, 421 Fifth Ave., $20, benefiting the Piper Education Program.
