5 Things: Brooklyn Photo Salon and Drawing While Drinking

What you need to know, pre-coffee.

1. Support Brooklyn photography. Tonight is the Brooklyn Photo Salon + Fundraiser Fete, where Chester Higgins, Jr. will share a retrospective of his work and practice to fellow photographers. There will also be food and music by DJ Revolution aka Lumumba Bandele. 8:00 p.m. – midnight. LaunchPad, 721 Franklin Ave., $10.

2. Discuss Jewish and Muslim women. There are two interesting book discussions today on women and religion. At 10 a.m. Union Temple hosts a discussion on “Price of Honor: Muslim Women Lift the Veil of Silence on the Islamic World” at 10 a.m. Then at 1 p.m. at Park Slope Jewish Center, Maggie Anton, author the Rashi’s Daughters trilogy, will talk about life for Jews and women in Zoroastrian Persia (around 612 BC).

3. Do something different. Today at the  New York Transit Museum, there's a guided tour on the history of Subway Advertising at 3 p.m. Boerum Pl & Schermerhorn.

4. Draw with friends.
Come hang with your friends at Launchpad's Drink + Draw + Draw Jam. You can and take part in low-key collaborative drawing games or work on your own drawings. BYO drinks, snacks and drawing materials. Drawers of all levels welcome! 721 Franklin Ave. 3 p.m.

5. Find a Tuesday/Friday spot. Alternate side parking will be in effect Monday so grab a Tuesday spot now.
