Where to Watch The Football Game This Sunday

The conference championship games are this weekend, where will you be?

Football fans, as you already know, the conference championship games are this Sunday. When game time finally arrives, you'll want to be in the right place, with a drink in hand, eats nearby, raring to go.

There are more than a couple bars in the neighborhood that will have the game on the flatscreen come Sunday, and several plan on making a night of it. Here are a few options in and around the neighborhood you'll want to hear about before deciding your bar of choice:

Angry Wades, at 224 Smith Street, will be firing up their grill and serving $3 Highlife for the game. The bar will be serving up burgers, hotdogs, grilled chicken, and chili, plus half off drafts and well drinks during happy hour.

At the Canal Bar at 270 3rd Avenue, throw back a $4 shot of bartender's choice whenever the Giants score. Last week's shot of choice was Jameson, so expect something above well level. For a drink with a spicy kick, try one of their pints of house-made Bloody Mary for $5.

Okay, no drink specials here, but it is hard to pass up 20 TVs playing the game. The classic, no frills sports bar at 154 Court Street will be serving burgers and wings among other eats.

Ice House

For those craving a game day in Red Hook, Ice House at 318 Van Brunt Street will be offering $2 PBRs and Miller Highlifes, as well as 50 cent wings during the game. If you are hungrier, grab a couple of their $3 pulled pork sandwiches.

For some delicious smoked foods with your drink, head over to Pj Hanleys at 449 Court Street. In honor of the big game, the tavern is bringing out Big Bertha, their smoker, and making brisket, ribs, and chicken, ready to eat by half time.
