Known to her hundreds of ballet students simply as "Miss Colette,” the founder of Cobble Hill Ballet, Colette Linton-Meyer, recently opened her second dance studio in the neighborhood last week.

A large space at 232 Carroll Street, on the corner of Court and Carroll, the newly renovated studio will allow the dance school to expand its offering of Classical ballet, Pointe and Modern classes to dance lovers of all ages.

First Ever Italian Restaurant Week Features Five Area Eateries

Brooklyn is home to countless fantastic Italian eateries, so what better way to celebrate Italian Heritage Month with the first ever Italian Restaurant Week?

Resiliency After Sandy and a 'Taste of Red Hook'

One Killed, One Hospitalized After Barclays Center Subway Incident


One person was killed by a train at the Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center subway station Thursday afternoon, according to information from the fire department.

A department spokesman said that one person was killed and another was taken to Brooklyn Hospital after the incident. Which happened at around 12:25 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Police said the victim, a woman, may have jumped in front of the train.
