Carroll Gardens' 501 Union to Host Holiday Bazaar

Carroll Gardens gets its chance to 'booze' and 'schmooze' this year at the First Annual Brooklyn Holiday Bazaar.

Online goods shop Brooklyn Makers and Brooklyn Exposed host the 'Brooklyn Holiday Bazaar: Schmooze, Booze, Shop!' The event will feature over 35 handpicked local artisans on site selling clothing, jewelry, accessories, stationery, bath and beauty products, gourmet food products and much more. 

Off-Duty NYC Employee Arrested in 84 Precinct

A 34-year-old NYC Housing Authority employee was arrested Wednesday on four charges, according to police.

Monica Brown is charged with third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny and third and fourth-degree welfare fraud.

Boerum Hill Among 'Most Walkable' Neighborhoods in NYC

New York is the most walkable large city in the country, and Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill and Cobble Hill are among the top most walkable neighborhoods in NYC according to Walkscore.com.

The site that ranks the 'walkability' of neighborhoods across the country ranks Boerum Hill 18th in NYC with a walk score of 98, transit score of 100 and bike score of 87. 

MTA To Increase G Train Service

Brooklyn Assemblyman Joe Lentolannounced on Facebook this weekthat the MTA has pledged to add service on the L and G lines. Hurray! Your 10 minute wait at Fulton Street is now eight-and-a-half minutes. 

Sarcasm aside, this is good news, Lentol said, given the MTA's recognition that Brooklyn is, in fact, growing and full of people who enjoy and use mass transit.

Attorney General Issues Report on Stop-and-Frisk

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman weighed in on the stop-and-frisk debate Thursday, releasing a report based on information compiled from the NYPD. 

The report covered more than 2.4 million police stops from 2009 to 2012, and the more than 150,000 arrests that resulted from them.
