Week in Review: December 19th to 26th

We take a look back at the top stories from the week that was

 

The week leading up to Christmas is a hectic time filled with holiday parties, work deadlines, and last minute errands. Throw in the beginning of Hanukkah on Tuesday, and Carroll Gardens was teeming with energy all week long. Patch was there to keep you abreast of all the goings-on. Here is a look back some of the week’s top stories:

-City contractors should be more careful! On Friday, in the Columbia Waterfront District caused by a DEP work crew digging a new sewer. Luckily, no one was hurt.

-The holidays are a time to remember those in need. On Thursday, we posted our , featuring charities both local and borough-wide.

- Hanukkah started on Tuesday, and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz hosted a menoray-lighting ceremony outside of Borough Hall.

-Brooklyn-based HBO series On Wednesday evening, supporters of the recently cancelled HBO show “Bored to Death” joined creator Jonathan Ames at this Boerum Hill bar to commemorate the show and to drown their sorrows.
