Uncle Louie G's Shames Tip Thief, Posts Photo on Facebook

Cameras at the Carroll Gardens shop caught a crook stealing from the tip jar on Monday.

A local thief snuck money from the tip jar outside of the Uncle Louie G's window on Monday, according to owners. The ice cream shop hasn't gotten the money back, yet. But it is making sure the crook gets his just deserts in the meantime.

"Please like this link and 'share' it on Facebook on your timeline and shame this fool," owners wrote on the Uncle Louie G - Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn NY page, which has 274 followers. An adjoining still-frame captured four video surveillance shots of a dreadlocked man wearing a skull cap leaning inside the Uncle Louie G's window, reaching into the tip jar, and removing money.

"He only got $1," according to an e-mail owners also sent out to patrons, so the store did not report the incident to police. But that didn't stop them from spreading the word to fans and asking for the scoop on the unknown crook's identity.

"Two quart (any flavor) reward for his name," posted the parlor. "1 quart reward for the name of his friends with the clipboards in the background."

Sticky fingers, indeed.
