Monday

Head to for a reading from "Blood, Bones & Butter," a new memoir by Gabrielle Hamilton, former restauranteur. Hamilton will read from the book, which is about food and family.

The Brooklyn Lyceum, formerly Public Bath #7, hosts a weekly open mic night on Mondays. The building is reason enough to visit the café and community event space, but hey, open mic nights can be pretty fun. It's free, too.

Wednesday

The Boerum Hill neighborhood, which has been referred to as the last unprotected brownstone Brooklyn neighborhood, is getting very close to being rezoned, which will control the height of new developments in the area. Have an opinion? Come and speak out.

Thursday

The Brooklyn Historical Society hosts a ethnomusicologist Anne Rasmussen, PhD., who will present a lecture on the Middle Eastern music scene in NYC. Rasmussen will survey one hundred years of Arab-American music culture, focusing on New York.
