Updated: Spend New Year's Eve in Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill

Unless you happen to love traffic, crowds and trekking in to Manhattan for the big ball drop, there are plenty of activities in Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, and other contiguous areas at which to celebrate the season's end. Here's where to ring in 2013 if you want to...

...Eat Well

Frankies 457 - The Franks are offering a customizable pre-fixe for $85 per person, featuring dishes from cotechino sausage with lentils and poached duck egg to uni spaghetti to suckling pig. 

Henry Public - The Henry Street speakeasy will be serving a special menu including oysters, lamb shank, lobster pie and more.

Marco Polo Ristorante - Guests can choose from two options at this longtime Court Street favorite. A "grand party" in the upstairs dining room will include hors d’oeuvres, a four-course meal, open bar, and a midnight champagne toast. A special hot antipasto with shrimp, clams, Oyster Rockefeller, Portobello, and mozzarella in Carrozza are some of the special dishes on offer; homemade spinach pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and chestnuts in a light cream sauce will also be available. The party will run from 8:30pm – 2:00am.

Downstairs, a themed a la carte menu will offer dishes like risotto with radicchio and Taleggio cheese, and a Semifreddo Al Caffe. The main dining room will be open for regular business hours.

Prime Meats - There are two seatings available at this Austro-German eatery. The early dinner is $75 per person for four courses, while the late dinner is $119 for five courses. Dishes range from a citrus and pine-smoked trout salad to foie gras torchon to American lamb chop.

Seersucker - End 2012 on a Southern note with dishes like deviled Feather Ridge farm egg with Kentucky paddlefish roe and cornbread crumbs or black pepper dumplings served with oxtails, creamed collards, fried garlic and toma celena cheese. Six-course prix-fixe is $95 per person.

...Be Bubbly

61 Local will be featuring Lieb Cellars Sparkling Rose and Sparkling Pinot Blanc on tap. "That's not all!" says rep Kris De la Torre. "Taste our special sparkling hard ginger beer. We will pour until supplies last but the celebration wont end until well into the new year. This evening we are bumping last call back to 3am." There is no cover and no need to RSVP. 

...Dance 'til Dawn

The Bell House - Get down like it's 1999 at the 'I RUB NYE' dance party, featuring DJs Eleven, Ayres and Wonder. Plus, free Champagne toast at midnight! $40 per person. Festivities begin at 9 p.m.

Marco Polo Ristorante - A live D.J. for dancing will also be included in the upstairs party!
