Sen. Squadron & Dilan Unite For G Train Service Enhancements

Along with the Riders Alliance, officials will hold a rally on Sunday requesting a full-line review.

Ain't nothin' but a G thang to those in Manhattan.

But for straphangers in Brooklyn and Queens neighborhoods along the G line, service disruptions and frequency issues are a daily concern. For that reason, Senators Daniel Squadron and Martin Malavé Dilan will hold a rally on Sunday, Jan. 27 requesting the MTA perform a full-line review.

"The G train is a vital lifeline for residents and businesses throughout Brooklyn and Queens," stated a release from Senator Squadron's office on Friday afternoon. "The MTA recently made permanent the line’s extension to Church Avenue, a major improvement for riders. However, G train riders still face a number of challenges—highlighted by the Riders Alliance’s recent petition campaign and on their website."

Squadron has previously worked with the MTA to create the first-of-their-kind full-line reviews of the F and the L trains, resulting in more frequent and on-time trains and newer and cleaner subway cars on both lines. Senator Dilan is the ranking member of the Senate Transportation Committee.

The rally will take place at the corner of Metropolitan and Union Avenues, Brooklyn at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
