Dassara Brooklyn Ramen Hopes To Open August 7

According to owner Justin DeSpirito, the new noodle shop is currently undergoing interior changes and menu development. But the team is aiming for an August 7 opening. If the finger foods being served from their street-fair stall—shredded pork buns topped with hot pickles and cilantro dressing, and grilled oysters crowned with chili oil—are any indication, Carroll Gardens has a lot to look forward to.

Mile End Will Host Shabbat Dinner for NY Wine & Food Festival

Tickets for the Food Network New York Wine & Food Festival that will hit town Oct. 11 - 14, went on sale Monday. While there are no events taking place this year in the neighborhood, the good folk at will be hosting a shabbat dinner in the City Grit culinary salon space in Manhattan. For $200, diners will enjoy a 9 course sit-down dinner including "reimagined Jewish comfort foods like bone marrow matzo balls and duck confit stuffed cabbage" among other appetizing bites.
