Welcome to Friday Feline, a recurring column in which we spotlight a local rescue in need of a home. If you're looking for a low-maintenance animal that has already received most of its immunizations and tests, this is the place for you.
This week's subject is: Jimmy 'Durante'
"Jimmy is an extremely handsome boy with green eyes and a gorgeous Roman nose, named after the very lovable Brooklynite entertainer of the same name who was known for his sweetness and large nose," said C. Corey, one of five founders of Brooklyn Animal Action who rescues felines and coordinates adoptions in Carroll Gardens. "Jimmy is a doll, very loving, adores being pet, not in the least bit shy, he will go in and out of your legs stealing cheap pets as you stand and do the dishes or other tasks. He isn't bothersome nor too needy, just loving, easy going and a big cuddler.
Jimmy was found on Monroe Avenue in Bed Stuy, extremely thin and very hungry.
"Bringing him in was a piece of cake, I had a carrier with me on my bike and I just popped him in and rode home," said Corey. "He's a good eater, though fish doesn't agree with him, and has a hearty appetitie, uses his box like a champ and is an easy kitty to have around."
He is fine with other cats, has been neutered, tested neg for fiv/leuk, is microchipped and up-to-date on his shots.
He is currently being fostered in Carroll Gardens.
