Just before 5 p.m. Saturday, Court Street was quiet. Shop windows were taped up, and few people were out on the streets.

At , the windows were boarded up. Across the street at , the windows were also boarded up, but phrases like "Kiss our arse" and "Party starts now" were scrawled over the wood panels. Hanley's plans to stay open...

"Of course we are open," the words read. "Speicoal (??) guest Mayor Bloomberg."
