The CAG meets monthly to discuss Gowanus issues related to the EPA Superfund clean-up. Meetings are open to the public and are interesting for anyone with an interest in the waterway.

The beautiful Hoyt Street garden hosts a story reading every Tuesday (and Thursday) in the summer. Free lemonade and cookies for everyone!

As you might have seen in our , canoeing the Gowanus Canal is a blast. Head over to the Gowanus Dredgers boat launch on Second Street on Wednesdays and Saturdays for open canoe time.

Thursday

Head to Freebird Books on Columbia Street, arguably one of the most intimate and well curated book shops in Brooklyn, for a discussion of Sarah Hall's Daughters of the North.
