Pardon Me for Asking, always on top of environmental and land use issues in Carroll Gardens, also kept her readers up to date on holiday happenings this week. A post on Wednesday alerted readers to an upcoming tree lighting at the Transit Garden on 2nd Place and Smith Street, and a post on Thursday informed us about Caroling on Carroll, a traveling group of carolers who will be out tonight singing on blocks between Carroll Street and Kane Street between Clinton and Hoyt Streets, as well as some Smith Street bars.

Lost City reported on the new sign at Staubitz Market. We noticed it walking around yesterday, but Lost City, as always, has some great commentary:

"The old one had been there as long as I can remember. The new signage is OK. Very spare. Dignified. Probably no surprise to anyone out there, though, that I liked the old sign better. "
