WATCH: Nurses Rally For LICH, Announce First Political Endorsement

On a cloudy Wednesday evening, nurses, doctors and patients gathered with New York City Council Member Stephen Levin at a rally to save Long Island College Hospital. 

Members of the New York State Nurses Association from LICH and NYSNA’s executive director Jill Furillo, RN hosted the rally across from the hospital. NYSNA also announced their endorsement of Levin for City Council because of his support for the hospital. It is the first time NYSNA is supporting a candidate for NYC offices. 

Seersucker Chef Bringing Southern Flavor to Rock Center Cafe

Chef Robert Newton of Seersucker in Carroll Gardens will be bringing a special Southern menu to the iconic Rock Center Cafe for two weeks in September.

The menu will feature southern dishes such as Fried Green Tomatoes, Pan Fried Catfish, Sweet Corn Pudding and much more. 

City Employee Arrested Within 76th Precinct

An off-duty NYC employee was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges, including DWI, within the 76th precinct.
