New Sign Signals Steps Forward At Court Street Grocers

Restaurant opening soon

The owners of have been gearing up for a restaurant in their comfy lower Court Street location since they opened the shop back in November. Well, the day is right around the corner.

"It's not quite open yet," said co-owner Matt Ross. "We have tables on order and we're working on getting chairs."

Chairs and tables are important, sure, but the new sign out front points toward imminent changes. Ross said dinner will be limited at first, only serving a couple of nights a week, but will eventually be a full-on restaurant. The restaurant space will serve as a daytime cafe starting immediately. Well, as soon as the chairs and tables arrive.

"The chef wants to do dinner," he said. "We're not sure how, but we're doing it in a way that makes sense."

Court Street, home to artisanal cheeses and beautiful gourmet kitchen staples like olive oil and tomato sauce, is also well known for its sandwiches. Ross said Chef Andrew Burman is still working on the dinner menu, but if the grilled cheese with apples and bacon is any indication, diners are in for a treat.
