The particular flag being raised at Downstate LICH has a significant origin: It originally flew over the United States Capitol in honor of Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, and was donated by George Wahlert, Director of the E. Morgan King Health Sciences Library at Downstate LICH.

So celebrate a grand old flag, a high-flying flag, waving in peace above our neighborhood this week at Downstate LICH.
