After getting food at Trader Joe's, head up the street to the newly opened Barney's CO-OP, featuring a more moderately priced selection of the designer brands that have become a staple at their Madison Avenue branch. You're still paying top dollar for these items, but many of them are up to half off (Converse Academy sneakers that originally went for $80 are now $49 during the holiday season).

Need to pick up some baked goods or reward your kids (or yourself) with a sundae for getting through holiday shopping sans meltdown? Check out this 1920s fountain shop that's been beautifully restored to make all of your comfort food favorites. They also have a surprisingly extensive grocery section that focuses on Brooklyn-made items.

Not only is Winn Discount keeping their regular hours during the holiday season, but they're even extending them until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. You can walk out of here with a bunch of holiday items and not even reach double digits with bargains including $1 DVD's and 50-cent Christmas cassettes.

Reach into the $1 book bin, close your eyes and walk out with a couple of gifts for those distant relatives.

Jennifer Mankins, a former buyer for Barney's, runs this clothing shop which sells items ranging from top international designers to local fashionistas. Their Christmas special has them taking 25 percent off lots of their fall 2010 merchandise from designers including Suno, APC and Swedish Hasbeens.

Dealing with family during the holidays can be difficult and the oldest wine shop in Brooklyn understands that, keeping regular hours during the holiday season. Several of their wines and spirits are at reduced prices and all cases are 15 percent off.
