It's My Park Day is Saturday!

Both Carroll Park and Douglass Greene parks are holding events.

On Saturday, head to your favorite local park for It's My Park Day! Public space for kids and adults alike to relax and play in is precious, and the parks need to be taken care of.

Twice a year, New Yorkers team up with Partnership for Parks on these special days.

This is a great way to meet your neighbors, too!

***

Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

-Volunteer to plant, weed, paint, clean, fence mend and mulch!

-Plant exchange: "Bring offshoots from your own garden patch to plant in the park, and we'll send you home with your own living piece of Carroll Park!"

-Kids Programs! "There will be fun stuff for the kids from noon onward, highlighted by an awesome sword fighting demonstration in front of the Robert Acito Park House at 1 p.m., presented by Carroll Park's very own Shakespeareans, Smith Street Stage."

-Book swap: "On Saturday we're introducing a new fixture at our events, rolling out our big red book cart! Thanks to donations from volunteers and supporters, we've got a ton of FREE books for the taking. We encourage you to bring by your old titles and take home some new ones!"

There will also be a blood drive from 3 - 9 p.m.

***

Douglass Greene Park, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Head to Douglass Greene for frizbee golf, cornholl contests and a free skate board clinic from 12 to 1 p.m.

Good god, she's been here forever! Just say no thanks and move on. She's harmless.
