Hope Reichbach Memorial Fund Launches Oct. 20

The Memorial Fund will give funds to college students taking unpaid internships in public service.

When , one thing that became clear to her family and friends in the days that followed was the necessity to keep her memory and all that she fought for alive.

"It happened almost immediately. Seeing all of Hope's friends I thought, 'What are we going to do to keep Hope's legacy going? Keep her work going?'" said her mother Ellen Meyers. "I never thought, 'Should we do something?'"

The , in partnership with the Brooklyn Community Foundation, provides stipends to Brooklyn young adults taking unpaid summer internships in civic leadership or community organizing.

The Fund launched over the summer but will have an official launch celebration at the at Brooklyn Borough Hall, near the Christopher Columbus Statue in front of the State Supreme Court Building, on Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m.
