Heat Wave Advisory

Temperatures are expected to linger in the low to mid 90s through Saturday.

A heat wave advisory is in effect this week as temperatures are expected to remain in the low- to mid-90s Tuesday through Thursday and to soar to even higher temperatures Friday and Saturday.

Light thunderstorms are predicted for Tuesday before noon, with temperatures reaching 91 degrees. On Wednesday, temperatures will dip to a high of 86 degrees and on Thursday, the temperature rises again to a high of 92.

On Friday, the temperature is expected to peak at 97 degrees. Saturday should be a touch cooler, coming in at a high of 95 degrees.

For info on how to stay cool, visit the city's Office of Emergency Management website. The site also lists local cooling centers, though they have not yet been declared open. Stay tuned.
