Take an art class at Barking Cat Studio

Where/When: Weekdays at Barking Cat Studio, 65 Bond St.

Why Go: This Boerum Hill Art Studio offers drop-in art classes (if spots are available) throughout the week. Enjoy a fun art project with your kids without having to clean up a mess in your apartment.

Pricing: Ranges from $25 - $47, classes are 45 to 90 minutes, with varying levels of difficulty. On March 13, they will offer a Saturday class. $10 off first drop-in session on weekdays only.

 

Hear a story in French at

Where/When: Thursdays, 10 a.m. at Mini Max, 152 Atlantic Ave.

Why Go: Introduce your child to French by attending The French Storytime at this popular toy and hair salon. Hear French stories and sing French songs.

Mom and Baby Group with Mindful Moms

Where/When: Mondays from 2:30 - 4 p.m. at 359 Clinton St. (corner of Degraw)

Why Go: New mom? Head to a new mom’s group with Mindful Moms. Designed by Charlotte Malkmus, LMHC and Karen Rosen, LCSW, two therapists/moms with a down to earth style who are excited to be a part of this very unique time in the life of your family. They will discuss all aspects of new parenting. Meet other new moms and practice getting out of the house with a newborn.

Pricing: $120 for 6 sessions

 

Brooklyn Playdate at the

Where/When: Wednesday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m., Central Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza

Why Go:  The Brooklyn Public Library is hosting the first-ever Big Brooklyn Playdate! From building a peek-a-boo tunnel to making edible play dough, this hands-on, all day event will teach fun ways to play with your child and encourage early literacy at the same time. The event is best suited for children birth to 3 years and their parents or caregivers.
