Why Go:  NYC Resistor Labs hosts Craft Night every Thursday. People should bring projects they've been working on or meaning to work on but need a little help or direction with. Examples include knitting, mending, clothing reconstruction, web design, robots, etc.

Why Go: The South Bronx based group combines "homegrown audio sampling instruments with ferocious beats and adventurous orchestration."

Why Go: Head to Brooklyn Heights for The Life of Jackie Robinson, a film which tells the true story of how baseball-great Jackie Robinson fought racial discrimination and broke the color barrier in baseball.

Where/ When: ; Tuesday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Michael Showalter, a longstanding comic (of The State and Wet Hot American Summer fame) and Brooklyn favorite, reads from his new book, Mr. Funny Pants.
