When/ Where: MoCADA, 80 Hanson Place, Fort Greene, Friday at 7 p.m.

Why Go: This is an exciting night out for youngsters, ages 4 - 11. The museum screens child friendly short films and a Haitian storyteller will regale the audience with both contemporary and classic tales.

When/Where: St. Ann's Warehouse, 38 Water St., Dumbo, Friday and through May 7

Why Go: Black Watch is a Scottish Army regiment’s eye-view of the war in Iraq. The play is based on interviews Burke conducted with soldiers who served.

When/ Where: , doors open Saturday at 6

Why Go: Anyone at all interested in modern indie rock music, or the history of independent label Sub Pop, should hightail it to Gowanus for this show. Come, featuring Thalia Zadek and Chris Brokaw, paved the way for many a great band.

Cost: $20

 

When/ Where: Brooklyn Boulders, 575 Degraw St., Sunday at 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Boulders is a fun place regardless, and if you have kids, they will surely delight in finding eggs in the many nooks and crannies! There will be no extra fees to stay after the hunt and climb until noon.

Cost: $5 in advance, $10 day of

 

Where/ When: The Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont St., Brooklyn Heights, Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: In keeping with the Historical Society's track record, this event promises to be intriguing. It is the opening symposium for Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn, a series of programs hosted by the Brooklyn Arts Council on traditional narrative arts practiced in Brooklyn.
