Four Colly Birds: Four & Twenty Blackbirds

Despite popular myth, the fourth gift received during "The 12 Days of Christmas" is not "four calling birds." 

In fact, the correct words to the song are "On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: four Colly birds..."

Colly birds are European blackbirds. It may sound strange to sing for the first time after reciting the wrong version for years, but it's an excellent reason to visit local pie shop Four & Twenty Blackbirds and pick up some sweet treats for your holiday table.
