Carroll Gardens Rescue Kitty 'Dolly' Needs a Home

They say every dog has its day—but what about the cats?

Welcome to Friday Feline, a recurring column in which we spotlight a local rescue in need of a home. If you're looking for a low-maintenance animal that has already received most of its immunizations and tests, this is the place for you.

This week's subject is: Dolly

"Dolly is a calm and loveable little sweetheart who appeared in her rescuer's yard and was a doll from the start," said C. Corey,  who rescues felines and coordinates adoptions in Carroll Gardens.

"When she was outside, she liked to sit with her little nose pressed up against the glass of her rescuer's back door and watch them," recalled Corey, who describes Dolly as having an adorable white stripe down the middle of her forehead and spots of gray tabby. "Sometimes she stretched to her fullest and tried to scratch at the glass to come inside."

But the 10-month-old kitty's story doesn't end there. Once let in, her rescuers found Dolly just loves affection and attention.

"She enjoys cuddling and being stroked and loves to rub against you and purr," said Corey. "When you stop petting her, she'll put out her paw to tell you not to go!"

Dolly isn't afraid of dogs, but can be shy with strangers. "Give her two days and she is out looking for petting," noted Corey.

Dolly’s been fully vetted: She’s tested negative for FIV/FeLV and has been spayed, de-wormed and de-flead.

Looking for a male cat instead? . Corey suggests that the best home for Marlon may be a female-dominated one, as he is intimidated by male humans.
