Frigid temps will continue through Thursday, according to Tim Morrin, meteorologist with the National Weather Service office at Upton.
Temperatures in central Brooklyn are hovering in the low teens to and will drop to single digits by night fall. Extreme wind chills make the temps feel like they are in the negatives.
Frosty temperatures will blanket all of New York City and Long Island equally, according to the NWS. "It's an equal opportunity air mass," Morrin said.
Alternate site parking was suspended Wednesday and may be suspended Thursday as well. Follow updates here.
