Boerum Hill Couple's Renovated Row House Featured in Vogue

The pastoral Brooklyn home even has a rabbit hutch.

When landscape designer Miranda Brooks and her architect husband Bastien Hallard decided to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn, the geographic shift felt so foreign they decided to "just pretend we’re moving to the country”—as opposed to simply Boerum Hill.

The transformation of the downtrodden 4-story row house they found on Craigslist into an urban oasis—complete with Parisian-inspired first floor parlor, hand-painted wallpaper, a carriage-house-turned-office, rooftop garden and other spectacular elements—is documented in the February 2013 issue of Vogue magazine.

Perhaps one of the most luxurious alterations the couple made to the home they share with their two children, one cat and two rabbits, was the decision to remove all of the kitchen cabinetry so that art could be hung on the walls instead—just like friend Stella Tennant does "at her country home in Scotland."
