Brooklyn Enjoying Boerum Hill's Patron 'Saint' of Beer

St. Gambrinus Beer Shoppe opened up just about a month ago in Boerum Hill with the promise of craft beer for all -- and according to many, it has delivered.

The shop, co-owned by four self-proclaimed beer geeks, opened its doors at 533 Atlantic Avenue at the end of August. It specializes in craft beer with 16 rotating beers on tap and is named after the legendary patron saint for brewers.

Cobble Hill Couple Launches New Board Game

Back in 2010, Creative Cobble Hill couple Sara Farber and Bryan Wilson decided to put their expertise and background together to launch a toy and game company.

Farber was a 15-year content developer for kids’ toys and games, while Wilson has created TV commercials, print ads and social media campaigns for M&Ms, Duncan Hines, AT&T and many other household names. 

No Injuries in Early Morning Basement Fire on Huntington Street

FDNY units responded to an all-hands fire at 8:33 a.m. Monday at 164 Huntington Street in Carroll Gardens.

According to the FDNY, the fire in the basement of a three-story residential building was put under control at 8:50 a.m. All hands were called to the fire, which includes 12 units totaling about 60 firefighters. 

Red Hook Waterfront Condo Developer Aims at Artists

Developer Est4te Four plans to break ground at the former New York Dock building in November, with the aim of drawing artists to "affordable waterfront housing".

According to a report on DNAInfo.com, the developer plans to market the units in the former dock building on Imlay Street to local artists, musicians and models. 

Despite Primary Loss, Hynes Stays in Brooklyn D.A. Race

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes is going to stick it out in his bid for re-election, even after losing the democratic primary to challenger Kenneth A. Thompson,according to the New York Times.

Tynes will instead run on the Republican and Conservative lines at the urging of party leaders.
