A Look At The New Smith-9th St. Station

Riders of the F/G line who live near Gowanus and Red Hook rejoiced on Friday when the station finally reopened after two years under construction.


After 22 months under construction, the Smith-9th Street subway station servicing F/G riders who live in Carroll Gardens, Red Hook and Gowanus has finally reopened.

At 88 feet, the station is the highest in the world and now features a beautiful mosaic inside the ground-level entrance, slick escalators, uninterrupted views of Brooklyn landmarks and shiny new benches to rest one's laurels on.
