5 Things To Do Today: Touré, CSA Dinners, Free Children's Story Time and More

Carroll Gardens-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

1. You need to get the kids out of the house. Listen to Charu and her crew of readers as they read from beloved children's stories. If your child has a favorite book, you can even bring it for inclusion. , 151 Atlantic Ave at Clinton St, 10 a.m., all ages, Free.

2. You need to get schooled. Touré, author of one of The New York Times' most notable books of 2011 Who’s Afraid of Post-Blackness? What It Means to Be Black Now, will be speaking at . Central Library, 10 Grand Army Plaza, 7:00 p.m. Free.

3. You need to taste the difference that CSA makes. Enjoy a four-course meal prepared by guest chef Matthew Lief of Landhaus, who will use ingredients from Local Roots and other neighboring farms at the dinner. Local 61, 61 Bergen St. between Boerum and Smith, 7:00 p.m. $35-$40 per person.

4. You need to know if your train is running ... The F and G trains are running normally this week, but will be skipping Smith-9th St, 15th St-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway, according to the MTA. 

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Yes. Alternate side won't be suspended again until Monday, Feb. 13 for Lincoln's Birthday, according to the NYCDOT.
