5 Things To Do Today: Sword Dancing! Beef Jerky! Happy Hour!

Carroll Gardens-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

1. Get down with sword dancing. Half Moon Sword of New York City and eleven other English folk dance groups from around the country present an afternoon of English sword dancing that is fun for the entire family at Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, 2:30 p.m., Free with museum admission.

2. Jerk around. No, really. It's ok! By Brooklyn will be sampling three different varieties of King's County beef jerky—Classic, Szechuan Ginger and Korean BBQ —at their store this afternoon for curious meat-lovers to try and buy. By Brooklyn, 261 Smith Street at Degraw Street, 1:00 p.m., Free.

3. Hop on over to Happy Hour. It's fair to say that not many establishments offer a Happy Hour on weekends. Fortunately, Brooklyn Buschenschank is a rare exception (They believe in hosting one seven days a week.) Enjoy $1 off all drinks plus ever-changing specials. Brooklyn Buschenschank, 320 Court Street at Sackett Street, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

4. Find out if your train is running ... The F and G trains will be skipping Smith-9th St, 15th St-Prospect Park and Fort Hamilton Parkway, per usual. Jamaica-bound F trains will run via the M from 47-50 Streets to Roosevelt Avenue. Coney Island-bound F trains run via A the from W 4 St to Jay St-MetroTech, according to the MTA.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Yes. Alternate side parking is in effect. But once you do, you're set until Tuesday because alternate side will be suspended Monday, Feb. 20, for Washington's Birthday, according to the NYCDOT.
