5 Things To Do Today: Watch Balto, Chat About Charter Schools, Hear Avant-Jazz

2. Get involved in the dialogue about charter schools. St. Francis College and the Manhattan Institute begin its series of panel discussions tonight on contemporary political and social issues with a discussion on and the overall impact the growth of charters has had on Catholic education. 3. Get in on some experimental music. French-US collaborative quartet is a new ensemble exploring a broad diversity of approaches to improvisation and composition in contexts ranging from avant-jazz to chamber music to improvised electro-acoustics.
