359 Court St Owner Named Worst Landlord in Carroll Gardens, Again

The building has 19 infractions cited on Bill DiBlasio's updated Worst Landlords Watchlist.


Public advocate Bill DiBlasio updated his annual "worst landlord watchlist" Sunday, which publicizes the names of landlords with repeated infractions like no electricity, plumbing issues, infestations, etc.

Repeat offender James Geritano, owner of 359 Court Street between Union and President Streets, maintains his title as the "Worst Landlord" in Carroll Gardens, with 19 infractions cited on DiBlasio's list, .

The building is home to three apartments as well as the , whose owners declined to comment on the announcement.

Calls to Geritano himself went unresponded to. Carroll Gardens Patch was able to reach his cousin, also named James, however, at the —another Geritano property.

"Oh, that's not me," he responded when asked for comment on DiBlasio's watchlist. "I know that building." He said he did not have his cousin's phone number.
