When:             3 p.m., today, Wednesday, August 28, 2013 Where:             Hick and Pacific Street, Brooklyn, NY      (across the street from Long Island College Hospital) (Brooklyn) The battle to save Long Island College Hospital continues. City Council Member Stephen Levin has been a leader in the campaign to save the hospital from the very beginning. He has attended countless rallies and community meetings, co-sponsored a City Council resolution on behalf of the hospital, delivered a petition to SUNY with more than 7,000 signatures, and even went to jail to keep LICH open for care. Today, nurses will rally with Council Member Levin and will announce their endorsement of Levin for City Council.  For the first time in NYSNA’s history, members are endorsingcandidates for New York City offices. NYSNA nurses decided they could not abstain from endorsing in this race when the lives of so many New York City patients are at stake due to the hospital crisis. “Stephen Levin has been an amazing ally in the fight to keep Long Island College open for care,” said Jill Furillo, RN, executive director of the New York State Nurses Association. “The members of NYSNA are endorsing Stephen Levin because of his outstanding commitment to protecting care for Brooklyn patients.” "NYSNA's endorsement is especially meaningful for me," said Council Member Stephen Levin. "Throughout this year we have fought long and hard to keep Long Island College Hospital open for care, spending countless hours together in community meetings, protests, and even in jail. I am honored to have the support of the New York State Nurses Association and will continue to stand up for the health of Brooklyn in my next term as Council Member for the 33rd District." ### Michelle Green Associate Director New York State Nurses Association 131 West 33rd Street New York, NY 10001 212 785 0157 x175 718 714 8863 (cell) Maria Pagano CGNA -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "union-sackett block assocation" group.
