Slalom NYC and YouGiveGoods Team Up To Support City Harvest

Consulting Company Uses New Technology to Run Online Food Drive Competition

Team members at Slalom Consulting, New York City, a company that brings together business and technology expertise to assist companies in driving enterprise performance, accelerating innovation, enhancing customer experience, and increasing employee productivity have paired up with YouGiveGoods this month in support of City Harvest.

Slalom Consulting strongly believes in giving back to the community and assisting those who are in need. They recognize that an average of 1.5 million people in New York City this year belong to households where food is often an issue. In response to these startling statistics, Slalom Consulting plans to raise as much food as they can for City Harvest in recognition of the United Nations World Food Day on October 16, 2012.

“Let’s Can Hunger”, “The Famine Fighters”, and “The Rip Van-Wie-Kills” teams at Slalom New York are facing off in a friendly competition to support City Harvest and their battle against hunger.

Kimberly Mendonca, organizer of Slalom NYC’s Food Drive initiative says, “We are quite excited to be working with YouGiveGoods and are very glad with how successful our drive has been! Our ‘virtual food drive’ enlivens our company’s competitive and can-do spirit.  The contest leaderboard motivates people to participate in the competition, and the easy-to-use interface allows folks to donate more through the site than they would probably be willing to haul onto the subway to a drop-off spot.Having a Drive URL to distribute makes it easy to leverage our personal and professional networks and maximize our drive’s impact!”

To see how the contest is going or to contribute to City Harvest on behalf of one of the Slalom New York teams, visit the “Slalom New York Fights Hunger“ Contest Page by clicking here. Once the contest is over on October 15, 2012, YouGiveGoods will deliver the items to City Harvest and supporters will receive an e-mail to let them know when the goods have been delivered.
