Ace Energy, Inc. (Ace) worked with Downstate LICH to obtain more than $600,000 in funding to upgrade lighting throughout the hospital. The hospital had been using inefficient T12 lighting throughout most common areas and offices. Ace retrofit the areas with new T8 lighting to provide significant energy savings, while improving the light levels and quality of light throughout. The upgrade achieved a reduction of more than 1.5 million kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to removing nearly 3,000,000 lbs of carbon dioxide from the environment.
“Hospitals hold substantial potential for energy savings because they operate 24 hours a day, making an energy saving lighting upgrade an easy and fiscally responsible way to significantly cut costs,” explains Joseph Murray, Sales Director at Ace Energy.
Utilizing “Buy American” materials, Ace completed the more than 6,000 fixture project, spanning 5 buildings, in a mere 3 months.
