The large, red brick structure will maintain the architectural integrity of the neighborhood, said the Landmarks Committee.

The Landmarks & Land Use Committee approved a Certificate of Appropriateness application last week submitted to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for the construction of a new building at 2-4 Strong Place at the Southwest corner of Strong Place at Kane Street in the Cobble Hill Historic District.

Located across from PS 29, the project was presented to both the Strong Place Association and the Kane Street Association prior to its application, to ensure everything was in compliance, said the Committee chairs.

Currently a parking lot, the new building will be residential with a small garage in the back. The rowhouses will be divided between two two-family homes sandwiching a single-family home, featuring red brick and precast brownstone.

“They truly did a beautiful job and it deserves our support,” said Committee Chair Robert Levine.

Abdou Ndoye, project designer at CWB Architects, released the above image of the Strong Place rowhouses to Carroll Gardens Patch. At press time the lead architect and property owner were not available for comment.
