Strong Place Parking Lot Will Become Rowhouses

The large, red brick structure will maintain the architectural integrity of the neighborhood, said the Landmarks Committee.

The Landmarks & Land Use Committee approved a Certificate of Appropriateness application last week submitted to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for the construction of a new building at 2-4 Strong Place at the Southwest corner of Strong Place at Kane Street in the Cobble Hill Historic District.

Located across from , the project was presented to both the Strong Place Association and the Kane Street Association prior to its application, to ensure everything was in compliance, said the Committee chairs.

Currently a parking lot, the new building will be residential with a small garage in the back. The rowhouses will be divided between two two-family homes sandwiching a single-family home, featuring red brick and precast brownstone.
