Off-Duty Cop Attempts to Chase Down Thieves

Cop Chases Robbers

An off-duty police officer witnessed an attempted robbery on 4th Place and Henry Street and tried to chase down the two thieves, cops said.

On Wednesday, July 27 at 11:40 p.m. a 31-year-old female was approached from behind by the two creeps who threw her to the ground, injuring her right wrist and knee. The off-duty cop chased them on foot, but they got away. Nothing was stolen.

Woman Arrested for String of Red Hook Pool Grand Larcenies

A 48-year-old female named Denise McLeod has been arrested and charged with several grand larcenies that occurred outside the Red Hook Pool involving cars, cops said.

The most recent incident was committed on Sunday, July 31 between 11:40 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. A 39-year-old male parked his car on Clinton and Lorraine streets and went to cool off at the pool. He was then notified by police about a broken window of his car. When he went to the car, he found several items missing, including a BlackBerry Curve, a GPS system and $478 in cash.

 

Attempted Robbery

A 22-year-old male was approached by two thugs on the corner of Court Street and Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, July 26 just after midnight, cops said. One creep punched the male on the right side of his face and the other said, "Empty your pockets." The creeps ran off without taking anything.

 

Carroll Street Car Broken Into

On Friday, July 29 at 9:15 p.m. a 39-year-old male parked his car on Carroll Street near Court Street. When he returned the following day around noon, his car had been broken into and his personal property had been taken, cops said. The thief or thieves broke into the trunk of the 2010 Honda Accord and took a Toshiba laptop worth $1,000, a NorthFace backpack worth $100 and three credit cards among other items.
