Bottoms Up!

Liquor Licenses approved at the CB6 Meeting last night.

It's a good month for neighborhood restaurants trying to sell some booze.

Last night, the Permits and Licenses Committee from Community Board Six approved reccommendations for four liquor licenses in the nearby area:

La Vara, , will be located at the former location of Breuckelen on Clinton Street near Verandah Place in Cobble Hill.

Jolie Cantina,  by the former owners of Jolie Restaurant on Atlantic Avenue, offers French and Mexican fare at 241 Smith Street, between Butler and Douglass Streets.

Pok Pok, that hails from Portland, Oregon, will be opening a full restaurant at 127 Columbia Street between Kane and Degraw Streets in Columbia Waterfront District sometime in early 2012.

Arthur On Smith will be located at 276 Smith Street between Sackett and Degraw Streets in Carroll Gardens. According to their website, the restaurant will be opening this March, serving "seasonal American" cuisine with "Italian influences."

Of course, the quest for a liquor license is never easy. The committee’s recommendations still have to be approved by the executive committee and the Community Board before going to the State Liquor Authority.
