Harding to Take Top Spot at Littleneck

The prolific chef, who was fraught with legal troubles over the summer, will return to the food world to helm Littleneck, in Gowanus.

Smith Street restaurateur Alan Harding, who made headlines with his summer divorce from ex-wife Leslie Parks, has returned to the limelight to helm the menu at Littleneck, the New England-style clam shack in Gowanus, according to the Brooklyn Paper.

Harding, whose resume boasts the founding of Patois, the Gowanus Yacht Club, Pacifico, Café Enduro, Sweetwater, The Farm on Adderley, as well as the Hot Bird and Four Pi R Squared food trucks, has also appeared on the Food Network series “Chopped,” as well as “Cooking in Brooklyn.”

Littleneck, on Third Street, was the brainchild of friends Aaron Lefkove, Andy Curtin and Charlie Moody, who had met in various artist circles and punk bands. Ten Vong, a veteran of The Mercer Kitchen and Fat Hippo, , but after the deal didn’t work out, Littleneck’s owners were put in touch with Harding, according to the Brooklyn Paper.

“Alan’s given us some much needed guidance at a time we really needed it,” said Lefkove, in an interview with the Brooklyn Paper.

Outside of the restaurant world, Harding’s name made headlines this summer after allegedly shorting Parks on the sale of their Carroll Gardens home, according to the Daily News. Another suit said he was behind on child support payments for his two children, according to the Post, but according to Harding’s divorce lawyer, it would be dismissed.
