Cobble Hill Inspires Clutches, Wallets and Satchels

Kate Spade creative director Deborah Lloyd loves the neighborhood.

Cobble Hill ladies who hate leaving home behind for the office, now you can have the best of both worlds—carry the neighborhood with you everywhere.

Designer label Kate Spade has a collection of handbags ranging from clutches to satchels to cross-body bags, all influenced by our own beautiful streets and crafted in soft pebbled leather. Who knew?

The label's website describes the Cobble Hill collection as "inspired by a Brooklyn enclave known for and well-maintained 19th century homes," all captured through the eye of creative director for Kate Spade, Deborah Lloyd.

And she's not just a distant admirer.

"Deborah Lloyd is actually a Boerum Hill resident—and she loves the neighborhood," a representative for Kate Spade told Carroll Gardens Patch.

This was confirmed in a recent profile of Lloyd in U.K. fashion magazine You, in which she is quoted as saying, "we moved to Brooklyn for its community vibe and gorgeous greenery."

Also green is the bicycle she keeps outside of the 1860s terrace house she lives in with her husband in Boerum Hill.

"Our garden is our own little bit of England, complete with roses, peonies and wisteria," Lloyd told the magazine, referencing her British roots, then adding, "I would find it hard to live anywhere else now."

We know the feeling.

Prices in the Cobble Hill collection range from $89 to $428 and come in a variety of colors. Visit www.katespade.com for more details.
